BTEC Level 4 Diploma in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals
About the course
The qualification proves your competence to work at a management level in the IT and telecoms industries. You’ll achieve BTEC Level 4 Diploma in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals (Level 4 is equivalent to a Foundation Degree).
It’s also suitable for SNCOs and above working in ACS, FSTs or Base ISTAR.
Your knowledge will come from the training and experience you have gained in your professional role. If your trade has a Level 5 course that will also be included.
You will complete the following units:
Health And Safety In ICT
Develop Own Effectiveness and Professionalism
Customer Care in ICT
Working with ICT Hardware and Equipment
Security of ICT Systems
Technical Advice and Guidance
Using and Managing Bowman Systems for Advanced Signallers
How long is the course
Minimum of six months.
£400 for RA personnel (or £225 with SLC). £2500 for non RA personnel (or £500 with ELC). RACPD is ELC provider number 1620*.
You will prove your work-based competence by producing a portfolio of evidence under the guidance of an assessor in your unit. The process will take somewhere between 6 and 24 months depending on how quickly you can build the portfolio.
