“The timing was challenging due to various exercises, but with the help and guidance of my assessor it was made easy for me!”
Gunner, Catterick

About the course

This industry standard qualification is vital for anybody who wishes to work in the training sector. It will also improve your knowledge of training and assessment which will enhance your military career.
There is a range of IQA qualifications available to you depending on what you do and your level of expertise. The Level 4 course is for those who have responsibility for the internal quality assurance of the assessment process from within a centre or organisation. It’s also helpful for any teacher, trainer or course leader, to aid understanding of internal quality assurance processes.

This qualification qualifies you to earn money from the RACPD whilst serving and delivering workplace assessment of soldiers in your unit on RACPD courses. After your military career, this qualification can lead directly to civilian employment.

With this qualification, you will co-ordinate a team of assessors working in your unit, or a nearby unit, meeting internal and external quality assurance requirements.
As part of a pre-course requirement you will complete a workplace assessment which will be a period of a minimum of 12 months in which you work as a qualified assessor.

The IQA course can be broken down into the following segments:
• Course: One day of classroom study at Larkhill or your regiment
• Assessment: Six months in which you are assessed whilst delivering the workplace assessment of soldiers in your unit

You will cover the following units:
• Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment
• Internally assure the quality of assessment

How long is the course

Normally one or two hours a week over six months.

£750 but you can use your Learning Credits*.

The IQA Award is delivered in a group and on a one-to-one basis in your workplace. Assessment is done by means of observation and a portfolio of evidence which you have gathered. You can complete your IQA using a traditional paper-based portfolio or with an online e-portfolio. You will assemble your portfolio of evidence under the supervision of your Assessor.

Where do I study
