The Level 3 Certificate in Learning and Development is aimed at aspiring and existing trainers, and for those looking for a strong grounding in Learning and
Development (L&D) essentials, including:
• Those who are working in the field of L&D in a support role and wish to develop their knowledge and skills
• Those who have responsibilities for L&D activities

Studying this course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to deliver planned L&D activities, focusing on both the importance of creating and maintaining a positive learning environment and the knowledge and skills required for the actual activity or session. This qualification is available to serving personnel, veterans and dependants.


You will cover a variety of units to make up the credits needed for this qualification. Below is an idea of some of the topics you may cover.

• Evaluate and Improve Learning and Development Provision

How long is the course?

Depends on the individual and their role.


£1300 but you can use your ELC (RACPD is ELC provider number 1620).


There are various assessment activities involved with this qualification, including observations,
providing product evidence, discussion and finally building a portfolio.

Other details

A minimum of maths and English Functional Skills Level 2 is required to complete this course. If you have not already achieved a Level 2, or GCSE grade C or above, in English or maths, you will
be expected to work towards this qualification as part of your vocational course.
