Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Horse Care
About the course
The apprenticeship is an excellent way to gain a nationally recognised equine qualification as well as practical hands-on experience, and all whilst you're doing your day job. The qualification will not only train you in important skills, but also skills that civilian employers want; giving you greater choices in any future careers.
With this qualification you will achieve:
Level 2 BTEC Diploma in work-based Horse Care
Level 2 BTEC Certificate in the principles of Horse Care
Functional Skills Level 1 in maths and English
The apprenticeship covers topics that prove to potential employers your competence to work in equine and stable management roles in the equine industry. You will cover the following:
Feed and water routines
The apprenticeship also includes Functional Skills Level 1 in maths and English.
How long is the course?
Minimum of one year.
Free and available only to the King's Troop RHA personnel.
The course will be arranged for you by your Personal Development Advisor. Your knowledge will come from the training and experience you have gained in your professional role.
You will be assessed in the workplace and prove your competence by producing a portfolio of evidence under the guidance of an assessor at the Troop. You will also sit a Functional Skills exam if needed.
Where do I study?
At the King's Troop RHA. Inductions onto the apprenticeship take place every year.
Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Horse Care
The Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship is equivalent to five GCSEs grades A to C.
