Level 3 Award in Education and Training (civilian Teacher Training)
About the course
This course is designed for anyone who is considering teaching as a career or for those who are already in an instructing role. Open to non-military, the course will give you an overview of teaching in the Education and Training sector and enable you to gain some new ideas/teaching strategies.
It is a nationally recognised qualification and the first step towards becoming a qualified teacher.
You will gain an introduction into the qualities and skills required to become a successful teacher/trainer in the Education and Training sector.
This will include topics such as:
How do people learn?
What barriers/challenges do they face?
What can I do in the classroom to help learners learners learn?
How long is the course?
The course is run once a week over six weeks, which includes time to submit assessment items.
£300 (payment plans are available).
You will be required to complete written work during and after the workshops and prepare and deliver a 20 minute micro-teach.
Where do I study?
The course will be held at a local community venue in Larkhill.
You can continue to learn about teaching and get qualified to teach in colleges, at work or in secondary schools (dependent on other relevant qualifications). To do this, ask us about our Level 4 and Level 5 Education and Training courses.

With the Level 3 Award in Education and Training you can apply for jobs supporting learning (and maybe even teaching) in a college straight away, or can take further specialist courses in supporting learning.
