About the course

The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is the most widely held health and safety qualification in the UK. Recognised by civilian employers and suitable for anyone who is looking to go into a managerial role or as a first step towards a career in occupational health and safety.

No previous health and safety knowledge is required to take the course.


It covers the main legal requirements for health and safety in the UK, identification and control of workplace hazards, and the practical application of this knowledge.

The qualification is divided into three units:

  • Management of Health and Safety
  • Controlling workplace hazards
  • Health and safety practical application

How long is the course?

The course is run over eleven days.


£1200 or £1750 but as little as £200 or £350 using ELC.*


An exam takes place on the eleventh day.
