About the course
Project management is a management process that can be applied to any initiative large or small that must deliver within a certain timeframe and cost, in order to meet specific objectives. This course awards accreditation for the
project management skills and experience developed and practised by NCOs.
Suitable for anyone at NCO or above, you will be looking to improve your knowledge and understanding of how projects are executed successfully. You may also wish to become a Project Manager working in the construction industry, architecture, information technology and many more different occupations that produce a product or service.
During the one day workshop you will go through what you will be required to complete in your portfolio. You will cover all elements of project management from the initiation, to the delivery through to the completion of a project.
You will cover the following:
• Characteristics of a project - Understand the appropriate characteristics of projects.
• Project plans - Be able to generate project plans that can be applied to identifiying requirements and needs.
• Recording and reporting - Be able to implement planning, recording and reporting strategies.
• Project Risk Management - Understand approaches to monitoring activities that ensures effective delivery.
How long is the course?
You will attend a one day workshop followed by three months in which to collate your portfolio of evidence.

Assessment is done by submitting a portfolio of evidence which you have gathered. You will assemble your portfolio of evidence under the supervision of your Assessor.
Where do I study?
The one day workshop will be at Larkhill, you can complete your portfolio at home.
As a natural progression, you can complete other management-related qualifications including PRINCE2, PMC, PMI or 6SIGMA. You could complete other Level 4 qualifications including Level 4 Diploma in Learning and Development and Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training.
You will need to have English and maths at Level 2 prior to starting this course.
